Lecture: Complications & Revision Surgery in Subaxial Cervical Procedures

DOI 10.28962/01.3.158

This spine surgery lecture looks at subaxial cervical spine surgery complications and revision surgery. The common complications including dural leaks, nonunion, recurrent laryngeal nerve injuries are discussed in detail. The treatment of complications is discussed with help of preop photographs, and strategies are suggested to tackle difficult problems. Some tips are given to minimise the complications at the time of surgery. Improvement in the detection rate is noted in light of the symptoms and findings on imaging investigations.
