The eccElearning Faculty is made up of over 140 expert spine surgeons and educators. They have collectively supported the development of the world’s first comprehensive, online postgraduate education programme in a medical sub-speciality, spine surgery.

This spine surgery lecture is about the epidemiology and surgical treatment of ependymoma of the spine, which is the most common primary tumour of the spine in adults. The lecture begins with an overview of the origin and nature of ependymomas, followed by a discussion of the epidemiology and incidence of this type of tumour. The pathology, classification and clinical features of ependymomas are then described and the surgical resection of ependymomas is covered in detail.
