Lecture: Complications and Revision Surgery in Anterior Lumbar Approaches
This spine surgery lecture is about the complications of anterior lumbar spine surgery. As we enter the era of motion preservation surgery, the surgery at this level will be performed more often and so will the complication and revision rate become higher. The anterior lumbar interbody fusion approach offers a number of advantages but the proximity to the delicate structures also makes it one of the more difficult approaches. The lecture discusses all the possible scenarios including damage to the vascular and ureter and strategies to follow in addressing these challenges.
