Lecture: Technique, Strategy and Indication in Posterior Approaches: Hybrid Construct

DOI 10.28962/01.3.103

In this spine surgery lecture, the application of hooks in the deformity correction surgery is studied. Beginning with the advantages and disadvantages of both screws and hooks, it follows with a look at the results of screw only construct versus a hybrid construct combination of hooks and screws. The appropriate utilisation of hooks and how this can help overcome difficult situations is considered. The proper technique of hook applications is demonstrated with help of clear diagrams and clinical pictures.
