Prof Ufuk Talu is a highly experienced Spine Surgeon and a key member of the eccElearning Spine Surgery Education Programme faculty. The Spine Surgery Education Programme contains 180 Spine Surgery Lectures, and contains Specialist Certificates and the full Postgraduate Diploma in Spine Surgery. The eccElearning Faculty is made up of over 140 expert spine surgeons and educators. They have collectively supported the development of the world’s first comprehensive, online postgraduate education programme in a medical sub-speciality, spine surgery.

Lecture: Spinal Injuries in Children and Young Adults
This lecture concerns the management of spinal injuries in children. The unique features of this trauma are described, along with the key epidemiological aspects which make it different from adult trauma. The discussion includes the special care needed in the evaluation of these patients. The imaging requirements are highlighted. The lecture takes a detailed look at each segment of spine trauma, starting from the atlas to the lumbosacral junction. The discussion includes clinical examples with imaging from the pre- and post-operative period and surgical site photographs.
